no the mod is not dead!

at this point it looks like the amount of time I need to spend on the work project is low, though it may pick up later. I am currently reworking the build lists and research, but have also been able to get a lot of the clone wars ships rerigged and updated, this includes the recusant, Lucrehulk, munificent and victory I as well as some other minor vessels. I expect to have a reworked release that will have a simpler install in the future (it will still be multiple big files, but it will be a lot fewer) also I plan on trying to find a way to get an installer to work with the separate files (this may not be practical)

I am still looking for people to help with rigging and mapping, post in the forums if you are interested and have time.

there has been some headway into the NJO, old republic and Dark Empire eras as well, but as of this time the next release will only contain the Original Trilogy ships that are currently in place, and the clone wars ships.

SW:Warlords needs help!

I will be starting a large project at work that will occupy most of my time. This means that for at least the next 3-4 months I will be unable to work on the Warlords mod

I am looking for a few people that are capable of editing code to clean up the mod, things like the unit descriptions, unit and weapon stats, work on other parts of the mod that are not complete (maps, gametypes, vong) and possibly complete the conversions from 0.45 units into the new weapons format (this will require usage of maya) tools will be provided and I will have the staff board open to anyone that joins

what I would like to do is reintroduce eras and all of the units that were in 0.45, I will still update models, but a lot of the conversion work is script editing and tweaking

I will be pushing to complete my commitments to the IA2 team so I will probably be able to do most of the CW ships before I run out of time

if I don’t get anyone then the mod is pretty much frozen, I doubt I will have a lot of initiative to pick it up again

New Patch.Big and clonewars test

I uploaded a new patch.Big that should fix a lot of issues, go grab it in the download section

I also added a CW.big that has clone wars ships in it and enables the CIS and Republic sides for play, a lot of the ships are old models and they will be laggy and buggy, however the providence and venator are updated so if you go into the scenario mode and select venator vs providence you can test the ships out specifically.

I’m very close to releasing a new patch file, it should take care of a lot of the issues, if I don’t get to it tonight I will tomorrow I will also post a clonewars pack addon that will be really buggy (it will use old ships, not work online, will not be balanced, but it will be my test release for the clonewars ships (it will have a few of the new ones in it. I’ll post again when it is ready

This isn’t warlords news but I updated a few things in rehash(a mod for hiig and vaygr) so there is a new download, it requires the planet pack available here


you can use the planet plack from warlords it is the same thing

Site updates and mod update

Very close to having a fixes.big out, once that one gets out I will ask for more feedback and then have an official release of this version.

current bugs and issues to work out are

AI constructing destroyer yards

medium and small ship fx tweaks

refinery ship docking paths

pds and laser tweak

overall weapons tweaks (fixing discrepencies)

adding a few more scenarios

fixing some fighter stats

on the website the menu should be veiwable by IE users now, there are still some css issues with formatting but at least all the links work.

patch plans

I hope to get a patch out this weekend that fixes the outstanding issues that have been identified and finish up more what I wanted to get out in the release, it will take the form of an additional FIXES.Big

fixes include

Militia Dreadnaught texture

Invincible dreadnaught crash

skipray health

corvette balnace in general

fighter balance in general

torpedo damage

sound tweaks

removing missile turrets on Aggressor

returreting procurator and gunfrigate

fixing hardpoint on some of the stations

rebel laser more orange

SSD strength

ISD vs mon cal balance

AI building shipyards

fx performance and timing chnages

death timing and effects changes as well as more debris

added a forum to the site, you may ask why when there is one on relicnews for warlords? well there will be other projects along the same lines that won’t be related to HW2 in the future

unfortunately wordpress hates to integrate with any forums at this point so yes you will have to have a seperate login for the forum as from the blog comments (though it alleviates the need for lots of registered users on the blog)

Changed the theme around a bit, but to avoid code changes I did some css hacks, I don’t think they work in IE6, so if you have trouble seeing the menu, use IE7 or firefox.

Please let me know if you are using warlords models so I can add you to the affiliates section on the menu (comment on this post) I know there are some freelancer and XWA mods using them but I do not have your sites handy.
